The past two Christmases, we have had tall, live trees. This year, we decided on a much smaller live fir but have filled it with the same number of ornaments.
Each year Gregory has picked a fight with at least one ornament (his arch nemesis is the nutcracker soldier- I think because he finds the feathered helmet is so darn attractive!). Oftentimes, we would find broken ornaments on the ground the next morning. So far this year, all the ornaments have stayed in tact (despite Gregory's attempts!) so far.
