Sunning, hiking, napping, waiting

This is just a lovely, lovely photo. Three of our pets, seeking out a sunny spot on a sunny, but chilly spring day.

It had been so cold that the poor little dogs have been cooped up for quite some time. Over the past couple of weeks, we've had the good fortune of having at least one fun activity over the weekends. We had Hildegard visit from NJ (she's a 2 year old German Shepherd) last weekend, and the week prior, Olive came to visit as well. Dog visitors are always so much fun. Even Harry gets into the chase around and around the house.

Last month, we took the dogs on a little hike around the Arboretum park. There was snow everywhere still, and Harry with his skinny little leg needed to be carried for a little part of the hike. It was a fun adventure, though. Harry could be trusted to be off leash but I really don't think Clementine can, so she was tethered for the entirety of the walk.
Harry in the sling. Can you blame the poor guy? Just look at all that snow!
How cute is this little explorer face? And his little dog shadow? It's too much for me to bear!

We recently purchased flannel sheets for our bed. It's been a long time coming and we should have done this years ago! Not only do we love them, Harry adores the sheets so much! He definitely notices a difference- he used to "dig" before getting comfortable in bed, but now when placed into bed, he immediately just plops down with a little grunt of warm contentment.
Good night! This little bear is sleeping tight.

Harry's not the only one to enjoy the bed. Gregory gets in on the sheets as well.

Any day now, we are expecting a human baby to arrive. We're not really sure how the pets will react (most likely perfectly fine), but so far so good. They love all of baby's new stuff.

New year, new member of the family

Meet Clementine. She's the newest member of the crew. She sort of just happened upon us and we've kept her. She's a great girl. She's very eager to please and has had to learn her place in the family, but it doing just fine. Harry's not too sure about this new "friend." He still likes to be the alpha dog (which of course, he is) and isn't shy to tell her that when she gets too close to him when he's resting or if she's just plain annoying him. Little sisters...

Here are some photos of what the pets have been up to:

Bathtime crazies. Clem gets her first bath and Harry needs to keep an eye on all the goings on.
He hates when other animals get bathed. He will watch from outside and then gruff and snuff at
them when they get out of the bath.

Gregory finds a freshly cleaned dog bed…only, it's not his

It looks like the dogs are doing the same..
first winter blizzard of the year!

So far, it's been a lot of snuggling and playing indoors. I can't wait until the weather is better so that the dogs can get outside more to play and go on more trips.
