Much has changed for Harry this past holiday season. To put things simply, Harry is sick. In more ways than one. I choose not to go into detail about how ill Harry is at this moment, because it is all very sad. In short, we are focused on making Harry's time with us as wonderful and pleasant as possible. How much time Harry truly has, we can only hope for the best.
The good thing is, Harry doesn't know that he is sick yet. He did hurt his knee a few weeks ago and is slowly recovering from the surgical procedure that was performed to fix it. This means for him, no running, jumping, or rough housing. Very difficult, indeed for a little guy who's daily entertainment comes from acting very spry and playing fetch!
One thing that has been "helpful" in that respect is that he has been on medication that has made him quite sleepy, so during my week of stay-cation, we slept in. The medication is starting to adjust a little now, so he has some of his old pep back, as you can see in the above picture where he is playing with one of his new Christmas toys.
Harry received quite a few new toys this holiday- the first, a reindeer from Kelly and then the wreath (which he then promptly ripped off all the beautiful red bone bows) and gingerbread-person (who we've named "Gingy").
Otherwise, it's been a quiet holiday with some gentle rehabilitation for his knee (to date, he is putting more weight on it, which is vast improvement) and some serious naps on our laps during the day, while I browse the internet.
Time with this guy is total bliss.
