Blizzard of 2013

Well, we've been snowed in since yesterday and the city is mostly shut down- no cars, no public transportation, stores are all closed. It is pretty much a winter white-out outside and Harry joined in with some of the fun this afternoon.

We're not exactly sure how Harry feels about snow- I can only remember him having a smashing time in the snow several years ago, and mostly indifferent since then, but he wanted to romp in it for a little bit today! We saw a neighbor dog having a blast outside. I think he and Harry looked at each other from afar, but did not get close enough to interact. Harry played fetch with his "egg" toy outside in the snow before it just got soaked. By that point, he was much too cold and waited at the front steps to go back inside. 

Perhaps we'll head back out in a little bit to play some more- and this time take a more water-proof toy

Though it's been quite cold out still, we've been trying to take Harry out to some of his favorite places (and some new places that we know he would enjoy) on the weekends.

One of our stops last weekend was the Polka Dog Bakery, a treat store exclusively for pups. Harry loved it. We let him "choose" his favorite treat. He was particularly interested in a bag of dried buffalo liver chips (they almost look like blue corn tortilla chips). There is a a treat counter, displayed and filled with freshly made homemade biscuits. We got him some pizza and pumpkin flavored ones (not combined. Separate flavors). He is looking up at all the treat choices in the counter, in the above picture.

Harry also received his new bolster bed last week- personalized, as well. It's taking him some time to get used to it, but the cats sure do love using it. Especially Gregory. Now, if we can just find a good place to put it...
